SEBINO's PEATLAND
Fotografie di Gianfranco Melocchi
The Sebino Peat Bogs, located between Iseo, Provaglio, and Corte Franca, represent a nature reserve of remarkable value, not only from a naturalistic but also from a photographic point of view. The variety of habitats, alternating between reed beds, woods, blooms, and water mirrors, offers photography enthusiasts a truly unique panorama of subjects to capture.
Whether you are professional photographers or simply enthusiasts, the Reserve will surprise you with its photogenicity in every season. From the soft colors of dawn and sunset to the lush spring explosion, up to the evocative atmospheres of autumn, you can capture images of rare beauty.
Among the subjects most sought after by photographers, we mention the rich avifauna of the reserve, which includes species such as the gray heron, the bittern, and the marsh harrier. There are also landscape views of great charm, such as the lakes reflected in the water mirror, the carpets of wild flowers, and the evocative morning mists.
To obtain professional-level photographic shots, I recommend making the most of natural light, favoring the early morning or late afternoon hours. A zoom lens will allow you to frame subjects with precision, while the use of a polarizing filter will help to enhance colors and contrasts. Finally, remember to bring with you the right dose of patience and spirit of observation, to best capture the magical moments that nature offers.
